Four birds
Eugene Hur
Four birds are sitting on a tree
Crying gracefully with the voice of the sea
the first bird has the weight of petals on the flower bushes nearby
it carries the liveliness and awakes those who are deep asleep
it assures them with happy and joyful leaps
that it has brought spring in its lead up in the high, blue sky
the second bird has feathers with green leafs
it always has the scent of evergreen trees
it has the temperature of the sun and swims at ease
and as the bird sings the water's song, it tells us that summer has come in relief
the third bird is bright and red as the maple leaves around
it falls and rises like the leaves on the ground
it is grand and quiet, but yet not quite
as the bird whistles to welcome the autumn sky and take its flight
the last bird is a cold, hard icicle
it carries a whirling wind that is blowing every day
the area around it is white and frosty
but as it flourishes the white, beautiful snow up to the sky
everyone enjoys the fact that winter is back
