This story is based one my true experience!
Last winter, my friends and I were excited to see the snow piled up on the hill. Every time it snows, this hill in the school backyard was the perfect spot for sledding. I ran to get my sled at home.
"Mom, have you seen my sled? The red one with black spots,"
"Oh, I think I lent it to Jaden. He said he need one,"
Jaden is my cousin. And one thing sure is that he lives miles away from my house. I couldn't get my sled back right now.
"Oh, no! Mom, what should I do? I was planning to sled with Olivia and Cindy today,"
I moaned. Olivia and Cindy must be waiting for me by now.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart. I think you should just borrow theirs for now." said Mom.
"WHAT???"
I screamed. Olivia had just told me that her mom accidentally threw away her sled. Same for Cindy. I sighed, and start to complain.
"I can't believe our luck! I mean, how high percentage it would be for all of us to lost our sled? Now we're doomed. I wouldn't get my sled back before the snow melts. And we don't have time to buy a new one."
Suddenly, an idea flashed pass my mind. A way to make our own sled. Something we can do in time. And we got all the materials.
"PLASTIC BOTTLES!"
I shouted out loud. Olivia and Cindy stared at me.
"Well, let me explain. To make a sled, we just need a huge amount of plastic bottles, hot glue gun, and few more things. Attach the plastic bottles in a large rectangular shape. After putting one more layer on, we'll decorate it. It may take a while, but three of us can made it."
"Great idea! But where will we get the plastic bottles from?" Cindy asked.
I rubbed my chin. Then, I snapped my fingers. "Remember Leon Chang that used enormous amount of plastic bottles at Science Fair? I heard there are some left ones in the storage room. Let's start!"
After we got two large boxes filled with plastic bottles from the storage room, Olivia had to run all the way to the art classroom to get the hot glue gun, tape and glitter for decoration(she is the fastest). Then we started working. Olivia put the bottles in shape, Cindy attached them with hot glue gun, and I fixed the bottles in the right shape with tapes. Twice, we had to refill the glue gun. We turned on BTS's Dynamite as we work. It cheered us up while we work.
It almost took an hour to do the job. But at last, we finished the sled!
It looked better than I thought. With a touch of glitter, it looked awesome. Actually, it was better than the real sled. This one was eco-friendly, it was big enough for three people, and most of all, it saved the day!
We start sledding. I felt thrilled as the cold breeze whoshed pass me, and a sense of accomplishment that I made my own sled with PLASTIC BOTTLES!
