In the past, there has always been racism. Even though it is getting better and better by centuries, it still doesn’t disappear. ‘White people are good, Asians and African Americans are bad.’ In the past people said, “Of course white people are better!”. But now, people are like, “I don't really think so…”. But even though this is a common thought, there is still racism in the world, and I guess no one can really change those people. But there was this really funny and perhaps a nonsense-looking event. It was that- Asians discriminate Asians!
This story happened in 2017, when our family went to America for 1 year. I admit it- I was awful at English. People who I meet right now might think that I just stammered a little, but that wasn’t it. I was like- just terrible, and I could only express my opinions, but not talk to my friend.
Thankfully, I met another Korean friend in my class, and she spoke Korean. But when I talked with a Chinese American friend, I was REALLY saying nonsense. And you know- the Korean accent and stuff. So I said ‘very’ into ‘berry’ and ‘glass’ into ‘grass’.
I was pretty shocked when the Chinese friend started to say mean things(later I found out that they just wanted to talk to me and they became good friends). Thankfully, I had my Korean friend, so she helped me out of that(she was really good at English that time).
And I had realized- that even I can be the one to get discriminated! And I started to pay attention to those things.
