Hoot

Hi guys! I am yoochan and I read a book called Hoot. At first I didn’t exactly get what the story was all about, but as the story progressed, I got most of it. The story is mostly about 2 kids named Roy, beatrise, and beatrise’s stepbrother, trying to stop a pancake company from building another pancake house. The reason they commit vandilisms like destroying the equiptment, putting snakes at the construction site? It is because the pancake company is going to build the pancake house where a nest of burrowing owls live. Once the pancake company start building the construction site, the burrowing owls will get buried. Although the grownup owls can fly away, the babies will get buried because they can’t fly. In the end, protesters from all over the town protest against building the pancake house. This book however, is more than the story of owls. It is actually a story about a family. As you might have noticed, beatrise’s mother divorced beatrise’s father. However, her stepmother isn’t the best person in the world. The thing is, she hates her own son, and ships him off to military school. I grew madder and madder at the fact that this horrible woman had hated her own son. However, I still liked the book.
