I am currently reading a book called Animal Farm. (no, it's not like the three little pigs or any other story you might be thinking about) It's a book about communism. The story starts out like any other fairy tale story , talking animals decide to rebel against the cruel owner of the farm. However, although at first the rebellion seems great and all the animals are rejoicing, soon the pigs grip all the power and the farm turns out to be no better than before.
I think a part that was really interesting about this story is that in the beginning of the animal farm, the animals made the seven amendments(rules) that looks something like this
1. whatever goes upon two legs is a enemy
2. whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend
3. no animal shall wear clothes
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed
5. No animal shall drink alcohol
6. No animal shall kill any other animal
7. All animals are equal
However, as time passed the pigs started to change the amendments and the animals, too dumb to notice did nothing. In the end, the amendment looks something like this
1. whatever goes upon two legs is a friend
2. whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend
3. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
So, I guess that the whole point of the revolution was ruined. I didn't know this when I was reading this book, but apparently this book is based on the Soviet Union.
