Recently, I read this book called 'Daddy-long-legs'. It is a book written by Jean Webster in 1912. It is about a girl named Jerusha (or Judy, as the name that she likes to call herself) writing letters to the mysterious man that is helping her. More than half is written as a form of letters.
So, Jerusha was raised in an orphanage until her teenage life. She did not know what was it like to be in and normal house with a real family. She had to do housework like laundry all day. But, one day, a mysterious man decided to help Jerusha go to school. Jerusha did not meet him or even see his face but she only saw his shadows. She saw that he was very tall. That mysterious man wanted Jerusha to write letters to him. So, since what she knew about him was that he was tall so Jerusha called him Daddy-long-legs. (But, in the letter, she was supposed to send it to 'John Smith' and he would never reply) It was mostly about how she is doing in school. There was not really anything special and just little things. It was about Judy (as she changes her name when she goes to school) getting personal, educational and social growth trying to survive in the school with less knowledge about studying and friends. She fall in love with a man named Jervis Pendleton who she met during her summer vacation and visited a kind of a barn(?). He happened to be Daddy-long-legs.
I think this book was fun reading all the changes that Judy goes through getting in to a very different surroundings.
