Fifth Grade!!!

Hi, I’m Maureen. Last Friday was the first day of fifth grade. Every first day of anything is special to me, but I think that fifth grade is a very special grade. Fifth grade is when you start being the big kids. Also, you can be a school vice president. (I didn’t do that, though.) And there are other good things about being a fifth grader, too.

But the first day wasn’t that special. And most of the kids are weird and mean. Luckily, the rest of them are very nice. But the best part is that our teacher is awesome! She’s not awesome because she’s always playing games and dodgeball, though. She’s awesome because she is very strict, but everything is still so fun. We do have a lot of homework and we even got some on the first day. But that’s okay for me. And this teacher might even be the best teacher I ever had.

I think that fifth grade will be very fun, like fourth grade. And I’m sure I can make some friends with the normal and nice kids. I hope I can get better at everything, including music which is probably the only thing I am very bad at.
