Hello, this is Greene. I read a book called Fortune Falls by Jenny Goebel. It’s about a girl called Sadie living in a town called Fortune Falls. Fortune Falls is a place where all the superstitions come real. It’s the perfect place for a Lucky to be, but unfortunately, Sadie is still Undetermined, and she doesn’t seem to be very lucky. All the Undetermined students take a test depending on their birthday, and if they are a Lucky, they get to stay there. But if they are an Unlucky, they get sent to Bane’s, a school where all the Unluckies are.
The only thing Sadie can rely on is her birthday wish, but she has never got to blow out all the candles in one breath. Meanwhile, Cooper, her best friend gives her a telescope. The telescope was supposed to help Sadie a nightly wish, which wasn’t as powerful, but could help her a little. Unfortunately, Sadie drops the telescope and breaks it, and there happens to be a mirror inside it, which breaks with the telescope. In case you didn’t know, breaking a mirror is worth seven years of bad luck.
Later, Sadie finds a very special black cat called Jinx. Unlike a lot of other black cats, Jinx is a lucky Japanese bobtail. With the help of Jinx, she gets a bunny foot, and she trades it into a giant clover patch. With the help of these four-leaf clovers, everyone passes the test, and gets to be a lucky. Sadie also learns that there is no such thing as luck.
I would like to go to Fortune Falls, because I consider myself a very lucky person. If I was Sadie, I would have realized that there wasn’t such a thing as luck earlier. Fortune Falls was a very good book, and I recommend it a lot.
