Hi, I'm Maureen. I read a book called Going Solo. It's a book about Roald Dahl. He is a famous author, and he did a lot of interesting things before that. This book has a lot of stories in it, and the one I liked best was the story about the lion.
Roald Dahl went to Africa to work and there were some other people there. There was a cook, the cook's wife, and Roald Dahl's friend. And there were lots of lions in Africa. They didn't really attack the people, but this time, the cook's wife was carried off by a lion. A lion grabbed her with his mouth and carried her off ! The cook was mad about this and ran after the lion. Roald Dahl's friend ran after them with a gun. Then Roald Dahl had to help, so he ran after them, too. The lion did not stop until he got scared because of everyone after him. When he did stiop he put the cook's wife down and ran off. Everyone, including me thoght that she would be killed or hurt. But she was't hurt! Even her clothes were fine, even though it was very wet. The lion probably wasn't about to hurt her and probably did it for fun.
The rest of this book was also very good. I would reccomend it, but you should read the book before this one too, or it might be hard to understand.
