On Sunday, I went to a history museum. It was the Hansung Baekje museum. The most interesting thing about Baekje was that they were smarter than Joseon, which was way after Baekje was ruined. The reason why is because in Joseon, they just trashed water outside. Afterwards, flies would come and it would be disgusting. They couldn't even think of a sewage system. On the other hand, Baekje thought of a sewage system. They had sewer pipes that they could connect. There is a place called Pungnap castle. This castle is a big land, and has a castle in the middle. It has another castle nearby. So archaeologists didn't know which castle the king lived. They found out the sewer pipes in the Pungnap castle. They say that the other castle was for the military because the archaeologists found weapons in the other castle. A sad thing is that archaeologists can't dig up more Baekje's relic even though they know where a lot of them are. They are under the Pungnap castle. Today there are big apartments on top. When the apartments were being constructed, they dug up the ground. They then found a lot of Baekje's relic. Archaeologists wanted to dig up the ground. Sadly, the people who were soon going to be living in the apartments didn't want to. They fought over to dig or not, and eventually, archaeologists gave up. I don't think they can dig up now even if the people let them because now Pungnap castle has lots of big apartments. It would cost a lot of money to do that. Some people might think that they can understand the people who are living in those apartments. Personally, I can't. They could have just waited a little more and we could have found out a great discovery or relics. I've learned a lot in this museum, and I hope to come back again someday.
