Hi I’m Claire. Recently I watched a movie called Itzhak Perlman. He is a famous violinist, but he is disabled. Today, I will summarize this movie, thus Perlman’s life.
Perlman was born in Tel Aviv which, three years later, became part of the state of Israel. When he was small he listened to the violin on the radio and decided he wanted to play it. He studied at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv. Back then, people living outside of America all wanted to come to the U.S. Coming to the U.S. meant that you were very talented in something, which Perlman was. However, because of his disability, many of his teachers didn’t straightaway send him to the U.S. Perlman had been ill with polio at the age of four. He got better, and managed to learn to walk again with the use of crutches. Today, he still walks with crutches and plays the violin sitting down.
Anyway, he could finally move to the United States to study at the Juilliard School. After school, he was very successful. He was given awards, prizes, and even played in the White House.
Now, he lives in New York with his wife, 5 children, and 2 dogs.
