Kira-Kira

Hi guys! I am yoochan and I read this book called Kira-Kira. It is mostly about a japanise family moving from Iowa to Georgia. Kira-Kira means glittering in japanise. The main character (protagonist) is Katie Natsuko Takeshima. Her sister lynn, who is a genious makes her realize that they are being discriminated. One day, lynn gets terribly ill. At this point, I predicted that lynn would die because a lot of stories are like that. Sure enough, lynn died. Even though I predicted it, the death of lynn still caused a very big impact on me. When lynn dies, Katie is in complete sadness. She cries and cries. Then, her uncle Katsuhisa shares a memory with her. The memory is about Katie's uncle's first child. He died. This shocked me very much. It was because I would have never expected Katie’s uncle to have a dead child. He seemed too happy for that. Katie's parents change a great deal after lynn's death. However, they realize that they still have hope. Morover, they realize that they have choices. This book looks like one of these really boring books. However, the contents of this book was quite fun, in my opinion. I loved this book.
