Recently, I read this book called Les Miserables. It was written by Victor Hugo and it was very, very, very long for me. It did not seem to end! But, here I am finished the book like 2 days ago. It does not mean that I did not like the book. It was really fun. And it was also meaningful. I think most of people know this book since it is very famous all throughout the world. This often comes out at essays and as expressions in speeches or debates. So I also think that most people will know this book and already have read it, but I will still explain a little about book.
There was a criminal named Jean Valjean. He first went into prison because he stole just a piece of bread. He had big families that he had to feed but he had no money. And right in front of him was bread that could be help to feed his families. He tried to escape but got caught every time so his time that he had to be in jail just got longer and longer. After he went out, he met Bishop Myriel who gave him food and shelter. But Jean Valjean stole his silver candles and plates. However, he was not mad. He was happy. He thought those things went to the right owner and told him to use it in good use. After that, Jean Valjean decided that he will be good. He meets Cosette and treats her like his daughter. As times pasts and Jean Valjean did a lot of good things, Cosette finds her love. He was Marius Pontmercy. He thinks of Jean Valjean badly at first when he found out that he was a criminal, but realizes that he is a good person. He dies happily seeing them realizing that he was a good person.
For the people that have not read this book yet, I highly recommend you to recommend you to read it now. It is great.
