Number the Stars- Lois Lowry

I have read a book called Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It is a novel that I read in 4th grade, but I read it again. It was more fun when I read it the second time! It is about a girl called Annemarie, who has a friend called Ellen. This story takes place in World War II, where Hitler ordered his soldiers to capture people that are Jewish. But, Ellen was Jewish so Annemarie tried to protect her. She had gone to her uncle's house to be safe. Her mother had left her dad because if he did come together, the soldiers on the train could have captured Ellen. There, Annemarie had gone to give something to Uncle Henrik, but a soldier caught her. The soldier's dogs smelled something weird, but Annemarie luckily escaped. The 'something' was sandwiches and a handkerchief. When she came back, her mother was injured. When all of them came back to Copenhagen, Peter was dead. Peter is a very brave person to save the people. This book is very fun to read because there are some mysterious adventures in the middle of the book. I hope other readers like this book as well.
