Today I had a sports event at our school. It was called a small sports event, but I don’t think so. About 300 people were involved in the event and the teachers still called the event small. Anyway, the sports event began with all the classes lining up and running about 50 meters each. The teachers managed to do this by splitting the classes into two teams (blue team and white team) and making all the blue team (5 classes) line up and then run 50 meters one by one. After each person ran, the classes all sat down on the other side and waited. While they were waiting, all the class presidents and vice presidents were supposed to set up the dodgeball field so I and the class president went to set up the dodgeball field. After we did, our class (which is 5-3) and 5-4 had a dodgeball match. We won the first round of the match and then we also won the second. Because our class won, we were expecting our team (blue team) to win the dodgeball match and to lose the running match. However, what’s ironic is that our team actually lost the dodgeball match because we were the only class in our whole team to even win. All the other classes in our team lost the dodgeball match. What’s more ironic is that our team actually won the running match which is run by the best runners in the class. I don’t exactly know how we won because I went to drink some water at that time, but it appears that we actually won. So, the event ended with a score of 1 to 1 as I predicted, but how we got that score was the complete opposite of what I thought.
