Hi everyone! The weather is getting colder and colder every day!! I hope winter comes a little quickly.
Recently, I read this book called 'Quo Vadis'. I decided to read it because of the unusual title that I never heard before. This book was written by Henryk Adam Aleksander Pius Sienkiewicz who was a Poland journalist and a novelist. Born into an impoverished Poland noble family, he began publishing journalistic literary pieces. He also wrote travel essays when he was traveling the United States which made him a popular writer in Poland. He got a Nobel Prize in Literature for his "outstanding merits as an epic writer".
The title, 'Quo Vadis', and also the expression 'Quo Vadis Domine?' (which is in the book) means 'Where are you going, Lord?' in Latin. Saint Peter asked it to Jesus in the terrifying situation. This question was to the world of confusion with no answer. With hard relationships with people and having no answer but sauntering a turbulent period, have and eager for the way of the reason that they are meant to have.
It is about the story of King Nero who only listened to ones that have wrong answers without knowing the real answer. He was very stupid. There are also people who hide their Christianity but sing for the god inside.
When I read this book, I actually had no answer. I was full of confusion, trying to understand their true feelings in minds. But it had an impact on me. I am going to read it again soon.
