Hi, this is Greene. I read a book called Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. This book is about a Japanese girl named Sadako who got a disease called the leukemia, or the atom bomb disease. She struggles against it with the help of her family and her best friend Chizuko. When she is in the hospital, she tries to fold a thousand paper cranes. But after she made her last crane with the total of 644 cranes, she died.
Sadako first found out that something was wrong with her when she got dizzy very easily. But she ignored it. After it got too serious, she decided to go to the hospital. The doctors thought that she had leukemia.
Her best friend visited her and taught her how to fold paper cranes. Chizuko also told her how the gods would help her get better if she made a thousand paper cranes. When Sadako was in the hospital, she was very scared of dying.
When Sadako died, she had made 644 paper cranes. Her classmates made 356 more cranes and buried the cranes with Sadako.
This story was actually based on a real story that happened. I felt lucky to be alive, and I felt sorry for Sadako. The part where Sadako died was a little sad, but it wasn’t very surprising that Sadako died
