Samantha Sutton is a girl who wants to become an adventure-seeking archaeologist, just like her Uncle Jay. Finally, her dreams come true when Uncle Jay invites her on a summer excavation of an ancient temple in the Andes. According to the local legend, a ghostly madman named El Loco supposedly haunts the ruins. The project’s most important finds suddenly goes missing, and the others are suspecting Samantha. She and Uncle Jay decides to run away, but Samantha turns back, to tell her brother, Evan about her solution of the mystery.(80) When Samantha came back, Evan wasn’t there. Instead, there was a note saying“Help me.” Samantha goes to the plazas in the temple, and finds Evan captured by someone. She figures out they are El Loco and his daughters, who were their friend archaeologists. With the help of Samantha’s friend Alejandro, who came to the excavation, too, Samantha saved Evan and also caught thief of the missing concha trumpets.

I think Samantha is a very brave archaeologist. Even though the police were trying to find her and she was afraid of El Loco, Samantha had gone back into the temple to find his brother, but most people wouldn't have done it. In this way, I think Samantha is very brave.
