Hi, I'm Maureen. I read a book called The City of Ember today. It is about a girl named Lina and a boy named Doon. They live in Ember.
Ember is a city the Builders built. It is underground because it was built so that people would not disappear from earth. The people of Ember does not know all this. So they have to go to the real world by following the instructions the Builders left for them. But it is in a box that will open in 220 years. So when it was the year 245, Lina found the instructions. She thought that it was important and followed the instructions with her friend Doon. And they came to the real world above the ground. But the other people did not escape yet. But Lina told them how to get out. I think they will escape in the next book.
This book was very good. But it would have been better it it was funnier,. There are three other books after this, and I would like to read them too.
