Hi guys!! I`m Inkang and today I will introduce you guys the dark side of animal testing. Animal testing is one of the things that makeup companies need to do. It`s saves our lives and helps us use safe makeup. However, It kills the animals to death or harms the animal`s body or mind. According to `The Daily Telegraph`, ONE animal in Australia is killed every hour during testing for new medicines and cosmetic products. This means that 24 animals are killed in ONE day. And this also means that 8,760 animals are killed a year. 105,120 animals were killed from when we were born to now!! The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in 2016 that 71,370 animals suffered pain during experiments while being given no anesthesia for relief. That is a very big number!! Also, Animal Testing is not good to us because animals are very different from human beings and therefore make poor test subjects. The animal`s and human`s DNA and cells are very different each other. That makes animals a poor model for humans. Paul Furlong, Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at Aston University (UK), states that "it's very hard to create an animal model that even equates closely to what we're trying to achieve in the human."
Animal testing is very bad to us and even the poor animals. Therefore, I believe that animal testing should be banned.
Although animal testing can be harmful for the animals, if we ban animal testing, we will have no choice but to test it on humans. People will have to find another way soon.
