This is the first book of the Narnia series and one of the best books to me. This, I read more than a year ago but I still remember the details of the book.
A boy named Digory and a girl named decided to explore the attic together. They found a door and went in. There stood Digories uncle who is magician. The kids said sorry and tried to leave but uncle Andrew stopped them and gave them rings. There were a pair of green and gold rings. When Polly touched the gold ring she vanished. Digory decided to go after her so he put the green rings into his pocket and touched the gold ring he instantly felt water around him when he came out there was Polly fainted. They were in a area full of large ponds. They thought that these ponds makes people able to move around worlds. They went in a another pond and found themselves in a city in ruins. He went in a palace and rang a bell. Suddenly a queen came back to life. She said that her name was Jades she caught Digory and Polly and went out of the building with them. They brought her to their home(London) and she was crazy!!! She rode a carriage like a mad man and Digory transfered the Which(Jades), Polly, Uncle Andrew and the cab driver to the land with the ponds. But there was a singing lion and suddenly the landscape changed. Flowers, trees and grass grew. The Witch threw a piece of a street lamp and threw it to Aslan(the lion) but it bounced off him and when it touched the ground and suddenly it became a street lamp. Then the Witch ran off. In this world animals talked and walked. Aslan told Digory if he wanted to save his mother he needed to bring a apple from a orchard. he chanded the cab drivers into a winged horse for transport. In the orchard there was the witch. She insisted Digory to eat the apple but he ignored her and went back to Aslan. Aslan told Digory to plant the apple and it was instantly full grown. Digory took the apple and went back to his world and gave the apple to her mother and then he buried the rings and the apple core.
I truly recommend this book.
