When you hear or see writings based on the stories and the lessons, what do you think? Well, yeah, you might think that the lessons are good, but in the corner of your mind, you can’t really trust it. However, there was an experiment about a lesson from this book, and I will talk about this after a little peek of the book.
The prince and the pauper was born at the same time. The thing was, they looked so similar! One day, the pauper was walking by the iron gates of the palace. He saw the prince passing, and because the pauper was surprised to meet the prince, he leaned in too close and the guards hit him. The prince saw what was happening and ordered the guards to take the pauper inside. In the prince’s room, the prince and the pauper exchanged clothes and from then, the prince became the pauper and the pauper became the prince. At first, they were surprised, panicked, and felt a lot of feelings, but soon they began to adjust with their lives. The prince met a kindhearted man called Miles Hendon and with his help, the prince gets back into his place. The prince gives the pauper a high rank job, helps the pauper’s family, and tells the others to treat the pauper well and honor him. Everyone could live a happy life now, and under the rule of the prince, who was Edward VI, the country was peaceful.
It was very strange to know that the way of treating people became different, even if only the clothes changed. Well, those things actually happen in reality. According to an experiment from Unicef (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Uqt7NrhR2s) a child actor dressed up as a girl from a rich house and a poor girl.
She stayed in public places like restaurants and just out in the sidewalk, and the camera watched the other people’s reactions. It was such a sad sight! I hope you don’t do the things other people did in this video.
