Recently, I saw a video called the world without oil (like the rest of the class). This video is about what might happen if the world's oil (excluding oil reserves) disapear.
1 day after oil: People will run to the gas station to fill up their cars, All of the transportation (planes, trains etc) are disabled. The hospital still has power left on emergency stock. And huge wave of unemployment comes because they used to work on oil-related jobs.
5 days after oil: Now, everybody is rushing to the grocery stores to get food. The farm animals are facing starvation because the owners aren't . Black-outs come across the U.S and hospitals nearly run out of power. There will be some burglers to steal oil from facilities.
1 month after oil: Trains start to run to deliver food to hungry citizens. The farmers are now starting to plant soy beans which could be converted to diesel fuel. Also, they grow corn (and sugar canes) for ethanol which could be an alternative for gas-powered cars. Speaking of cars, electric cars are still on the road because there's still some electricty.
5 months after oil: Food delivery trucks start giving out rice and milk powder. The essential services such as fire trucks and coal deliveries are still getting oil from the government. But, at Saudi Arabia is having worse conditions. Practically the all of the country's money comes from oil, but they're keep going poorer. Now, people are digging out old stuff to make bio-fuel in the basement for diesel cars.
