The book that I want to introduce to you today is a book called "Wonder". This book is about a boy named August who is far away from normal. I really enjoyed this book and I hope you enjoy this book too as I introduce the summary of this book to you.
August has very serious diseases that makes his features not be where they have to. His face looks worse than you could ever imagine. Even though he had lots of plastic surgeries, his face didn't get any better. Anyway, because of his face, he was homeschooled but he's very smart. Then one day, his parents decided that it was time for him to go to middle school. The school is called Beecher Prep middle school and is a private school. The principal, Mr. Tushman (LOL) introduced August to 3 students, Jack Will, Julian, and Charlotte before school started and called them a "welcome buddy".
Their job was to be nice to August since it was his first time starting school and because of his face. Jack becomes August's best friend and is always with him, and Charlotte says hi to him when she meets him. Also, August makes a new friend, a girl named Summer. However, Julian is acting far away from nice and starts ignoring him, than bullying him with his friends, Henry, Amos, and Miles. Then on Halloween, Jack was badmouthing August because he felt stupid as Julian asked him why he hung out with August so much and August heard it. However, Jack didn't know that August heard because August was wearing a costume. So, August didn't talk with Jack for a long time. Then, Jack figured out why August was mad and apologized, so they became friends again. A while after that incident, their grade went to the nature retreat but Julian didn't come. Then on the first night, while they were watching movies, Jack and August went to the woods because they had to go to the bathroom and the bathroom line was long. They met Henry, Miles, and Amos there and they ignored them. Then, they ran into a bunch of seventh graders and the seventh graders started taunting August. Jack backed up for him and even Henry, Miles, and Amos did too. They threw a bit of punches and started running, and didn't get caught. Because of that incident, Henry, Miles, and Amos became friends with Jack and August. Back at school, they became a star, and since Julian wasn't at the nature retreat, he was left out. Julian changed schools and left Beecher Prep middle school. Finally, graduation came and Charlotte won the silver medal in "overall academic exellence", Amos won the gold for sports, Summer got the gold for creative writing, and to August's surprise, he got the Henry Ward Beecher medal!
I highly recommend this wonderful book to anyone my age. This book is about bullying, kindness, and true friends. I hope you read this book!
