Bonus assignment: Anna Kim's poem

Just like it

Anna Kim

Every day I stare at the night sky

counting the stars

I see the difference

of them

though they look the same

Each star has it’s different size

Different shape

Different brightness

Different temperature

But they all shine bright

All respected

All beautiful

in their own, unique way

Just like it,

just like the stars

Shining up bright,

people shine too

People with diseases?

They shine

People with disabilities?

They shine too

We are all different

Nobody’s the same

Somehow similar

but not

We all color ourselves up

ignite the world

hold our hands

and approach

To a small, little train

that will go miles and miles

send each other home

making big changes

As people get out of the train

taking small steps

getting to their own

unique little path

When people all leave,

when the train is empty,

this world is luminated

with respect

and glory
