HELLO GUYZZZ!! So, this post is about parents' day, which is on May 8th(in South Korea). Well, it will be a simple post, but anyways, let'zzzz GO!!!
Parents' Day started in the US, in the early 19th century. The original name was 'Mother's Day', but because at that time South Koreans were believing in Confucius ideals, it became the day that includes both mom and dad.
The date of Parents' Day is all different by country to country. The national Parents' Day(official) is the fourth Sunday of July every year. The US uses this, too. However, America has Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Parents' Day individually. So, to the US, Parents' Day was made a little later than Mother's Day and Father's Day was made.
On Parents' Day, it is a custom for children to give their parents a carnation.(I am not sure if other countries have the same custom)Mostly the carnations are red. Young kids usually make carnations by folding paper because they don't really have enough money to buy a carnation. Adults usually buy carnations. They can be real flowers or fake flowers. And both the children and the adults- they write letters to their parents(well mostly they do..). Letters have to be very, uh, sincere and has to show that it took a lot of time writing that letter. It's not a rule or something, but if somebody only writes one line in their card and gives that to their parents, would the parents like that card? I am sure that they will not be satisfied.
Anyways, guys, today's post is over! As I always say, I will come back with another post😎 Bye!
This is a very nice explanation!
