It's night, and me, not feeling tired at all, is lying on my bunk, listening to the quiet breathing around the room. Just then Yoonseo's voice sounds through the room.
Yoonseo: (Whispering) Erin?
Erin: Yeah?
Yoonseo: Do you think it was selfish for me to let the others leave this school?
Erin: Why would THAT be a selfish motive? And NO, I don't think so..
Then A voice.
??: Would you like to leave with us?
Erin: WHO ARE YOU!
Chris: Huh??
Sussana: What's all this noise…
Birdy: I’m Birdy! Nice to meet you!
Erin: Birdy…?
Birdy: Yes! Now, my friends and I have already delivered other students to their home. Would all of you like to go now too?
Erin: My home is invaded stupid bird..
Birdy: I mean, would you like to go to your friends??
Chris: Sure.. It’s a bit boring here..
WHOOSH! We stand in front of a giant house. Yoonseo knocked on the door.
Cody: Hey...YOU GUYS?? How in the world did you get here??
Yoonseo: *Points at Birdy*
Arlo: BIRDY?? Why did you bring those “students” here??
Birdy(Slightly angry): Ahem..I already got others to home, their home is DESTROYED and I’m letting them stay here, it’s technically MY house..
Cody: Groan.. Come on in..
The house is old and rackety; not the kind of 5 star hotel you would imagine. Yoonseo looks like a grump, she didn’t want to leave all the students at The Obedience School, and Chris looks...WEIRD I realize.
Chris: Where’s Sussana?
Erin: Yeah, she’s not here…
Yoonseo: You must’ve left her in that horrible SCHOOL, you wicked bird! Travel us back there!
Birdy: (Slightly afraid) I’m not wicked, and Sussana is still there at that school because she’s tied to that period of time.
Erin: So, we live in two different times?
Birdy: It’s kind of like that.
Chris: I don’t CARE, let’s go to our beds.
Cody: Wait, don’t tell me you expect your own beds! You don’t deserve them, the others already got the good ones. Time for you to sleep on the floor or the SOFA!
We each look at each other and run. Chris is faster and get’s the sofa, and Yoonseo sticks to the top of it, stepping on Chris rather painfully. That means I’m STUCK on the floor. Cody’s smirking evilly, and she seems to like me the least between all of us.
Birdy(A bit angry): *Shoots a look at Cody*
Cody: Whatever, I’m going…
Arlo: Sorry…. She’s a bit.. of Selfish…
Erin: It’s.. Fine..
Birdy(After turning into a human): Now, Follow me!
Erin: Didn’t Cody say that there's no more beds? And how did you turn into a human??
Birdy: Well, there’s a hidden room, follow me! Secondly, all animals around here can do that..
Birdy runs down the hallway with us and opens a door to a room, which smells heavily of lemons, and sour oranges. We wrinkle our noses when a smell of DUNG comes from it.
Chris: Don’t. Like. Too.
Birdy: Uh-gg... I hate it when the library smells bad ...
Yoonseo: (Snobby) I wouldn’t like it even if it DIDN’T smell! (Whispers to Erin) I told YOU we had to stay, you snob…
Erin: (Slightly angry) WHAT? Umm...you're saying I’m a SNOB?
Yoonseo: I didn’t want to leave! I’m sorry Erin, but ALL OF US were snobs! I hate you bird-human! Aaaaaaaargh!!!! That reminds me of the panda-human in the school!!! And the others too...Sussana, Caroline, Kayleen, Agni, Dale, Professor Melody...
Professor Melody: Yoonseo, I’m here…
Yoonseo: Professor Melody!! (Hugs the Professor) Where are the others?
Professor Melody: Caroline, Kayleen, Agni and Dale are here but Sussana kind of got...lost on the way…
Erin, Yoonseo, and Birdy: WHAT? Birdy: This problem is more serious than I thought…
Chris: (On the verge of tears) Oh god…
Yoonseo: (Angry) (Grabs Birdy by the neck) You stupid HALF-PERSON! Honestly, I felt REALLY mad when Bera, the HALF-Banana, literally KIDNAPPED us from our hometown! I decided to put it farther away when I saw the Color Temple, but now you take us to a WHOLE NEW PLACE!!! When we could have actually been worth something in training to become Warriors! Now you destroy our story by breaking to us that the school is to be broken down and people dead?! I’m not gonna allow that...after all we built…
Suddenly, Yoonseo’s eyes go red like a demon; she suddenly runs into the mysterious room in front of us.
Birdy: (Pale-faced) No!! Yoonseo!! Don’t go in there! You don’t know how the dark magic inside will react to you! (Panicking, but not going inside the room) She must have been affected by the Shatterdust inside!
Erin: Then why aren’t you going in to save her?
Birdy: I can’t...it...it has a special side-effect on half-humans like me.
Erin: (Angry) Well, what about we go then?
Birdy: No...then you’ll probably die...Great Warrior of Memories…
Erin: Well I’m going! You COWARD!
Chris: I’m going too, ERIN!
Both of us rush into the room after Yoonseo. Birdy doesn’t even call for us, or chase us. She WAS a coward after all. The fog and mist is SO thick that we can’t even see in front of the huge blue light. There are strange, eerie noises coming from the inside of the room, mostly coming from, we suspect, strange creatures.
Chris: Erin, I’m scared…
Erin: Me too, Chris…
We walk into the center of the room nevertheless; however, when we walk up to the eerie-blue corner, suddenly, the ground falls under us, crumpling like an earthquake. Black space is showing beneath the falling piece of floor; I scream, my arms flailing around, and Chris is shouting something to me that I can’t hear through these crumpling noises. A deep scent of roses is coming from the ground beneath our toes, but I smell something else.
My eyes light up in fear. Chris must have noticed too, because he’s opening his mouth like a goldfish, but isn’t able to say anything. There’s no denying; we’re falling straight into Yellowficient’s trap.
