Class president election

Last last week at school was a pretty big day for all of my classmates and most importantly, me. You guys all probably know what 반장 선거 is right?? You give a speech about why you would be the class president. And then the kids in the class elect one of the contestants who they thought that their speech and promises were good. Well, last last week at school i went out for it. It was so scary!! This is how it all happened…

So in the morning i was walking to school with my best friend. We talked and talked about girl stuff. I said that I was going to go out for the election. My best friend said that she wishes me luck and then we went our separate ways to our classrooms. As i walked into the classroom, all of my friends seemed to be nervous too. I walked slowly into the room and went to my seat.

Finally after 2 HOURS it was 3rd period. As my teacher wrote down the names of the contestants I was PETRIFIED. There were 13 girl contestants, and 5 boy contestants. I thought to myself;

“ Why are there SO many girls?????? And so less boys?? I’m definitely going to lose. And the popular girls in our class went out too.”

I just KNEW that i was going to lose. When it was my turn to do my speech, I walked slowly over to the front of the classroom. 34 faces were looking straight at me. My hands were so sweaty. My legs were shivering. But I got the courage to say my speech very well. I spoke clearly and fluently. When I finished my speech, all of my classmates clapped. I already felt happy. So the next 10 girls went and so did the boys. My teacher said,

“ okay everyone. Now that we heard everyone's terrific speech, it’s now time to vote.”

OH NO!!!! I thought. I hated this part. I was definitely going to lose. So my teacher handed out little scraps of paper and told us to vote for 1 girl and 1 boy that did a good job with their speech.

After everyone wrote down their votes, my teacher picked three students to read the votes and write them down. The first one was my name!!!!! I was so surprised. My name came out 3 more times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy. My friends all were shocked too. And then my name came out 4 more times. So basically I won!!!!! I wasn’t even the substitute president. I was THE president. The boy presidents came out too and so did the substitute girl president. I felt like flying. So i am going to try hard for this semester.
