I lived in the same house for 9 years since I was 3. I was so young back then I don’t even remember the house I lived in before I moved into my current one, so my current house is basically the only house I’ve ever lived in in my memory, along with the neighborhood around me. So, obviously, after 9 years, I have learned all about the neighborhood. Almost, by the least. I know all the brick paths and stone paths, all those old buildings that desperately need a new coat of paint, and that dark section of the park with light brown weeds where the lazy dog owners let their dogs… uh… do their business and leave the… uh… outcome of the business to rot.
Anyhoo, my neighborhood is quite old, and most people just mind their business, so there are not many interesting neighbors around. Trust me, I know. There are lots of old people around rather than young people (which is one reason why there are so few students in my school), and I don't think a man who lives next door even leaves his house more than two times during the week when the garbage truck comes by or when he picks up his mail in the apartment mailbox in the lobby, precisely at Tuesday. (seriously, he comes down to the lobby on Tuesday literally almost all the time. His mailbox is empty most of the time though) However, there is one interesting family that always keeps me entertained. That family lives downstairs and is always fighting. No exaggeration.
The family consists of parents in their 50s and their young daughter in her mid 20s. The daughter is quite pretty, and she is one of those energetic young people who like to play. I saw her in the elevator a couple times, most of the time wearing very high heels and a lot of makeup. Back in the days where corona didn’t exist, she used to be scolded by her parents almost every night after coming back from a club or a pub or something. Nowadays, she is scolded because of her relationships. They speak pretty loudly, and I have extremely sensitive ears, so even when I try not to, their voices come to me loud and clear. Yet the daughter is actually really fierce, and she doesn't just sit back when her parents scold her. She fights back pretty aggressively, mostly with her father, who does most of the scolding. The mom is always set aside from the fight but starts yelling as well by the end, scolding both her husband and her daughter to cut it out. The dad is always going “back when I was your age…” or “what are you gonna be in the future with all this playing?” Whereas the daughter usually goes “This is my life and my freedom!” or “Why are you such an controllative, frustrating dad?” So on and so forth.
One of the most nasty fights occurred like 2 weeks ago. It was while in the middle of a heated fight, the daughter’s phone rang. Apparently, the daughter’s boyfriend had called her. The father snatched away the phone and I could hear the daughter yell “GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE!!!!” As the father goes “Too late! You're not supposed to listen to your boyfriend!!! You're supposed to listen to me!!!” Meanwhile the mom is going “You had a boyfriend???” And the dad said
“OF COURSE THIS IS HER BOYFRIEND!!! Why else would a girl of her age put 3 heart emojis besides the name of a boy?” A precisely remember the daughter saying
“That’s a shock? Outside in the world there are people that actually care for me, and actually respect me for being the nice person I am. The world isn’t filled with such annoying people like you DAD!!! So just give me my phone!!! NOW!!!” Afterwards, I heard a lot of grunting and items crashing, and the mom sighing. The daughter eventually got her phone and in a new, soft tone, said “Hey sweety. What’s up?” The dad is still fuming at his daughter, and the daughter eventually slams the door and locks herself in her room. I can hear her giggling as she talks to her boyfriend, and that’s all I can remember, 'cause my mom told me to go to bed right afterwards. So yeah, that’s my neighbor.
I bet you could literally hear their dad snoring.
Wow. Lot of drama. This should be in a movie lol
