Every fiction story for kids tends to include a talking animal, whether they are a loving, helpful pet or a fearsome, aggressive beast. What if I tell you that there is a whole movie filled with talking animals, good and bad? Let me introduce you to one of my favorite movies of all time, Doctor Dolittle, taking place in about the 1820s.
Robert Downey Junior is famous for his role of ironman, but that definitely isn’t his only fiction movie. In this movie, Doctor Dolittle, Robert plays the role of a middle aged man named Doctor Dolittle (yeah, I know, it’s the name of the movie) who has a strange ability to understand and talk the language of all animals and used his skill to help millions of people around the world with their pets and became a famous, rich doctor. However, due to the loss of his wife, dr. Dolittle goes undercover in his mansion, until after decades, he is called by the royal guards to save the queen from an terrible illness, and it ends up on an adventure where he around the world with his pets; Polynesia (a parrot), Gub-Gub (a pig), Jip (a dog), Dab-Dab (a duck), Chee-Chee (a monkey), Too-Too (an owl), the Pushmi-pullyu, and a white mouse later named simply "Whitey".
It’s an overall nice story. Nice visuals. Nice action. Nice adventure. I recommend it to those of you who are interested. Although this movie isn’t that successful (quite a miserable failure at the box office) it deserves a few prizes for it’s excellence in my opinion. Well, this was Dr. Dolittle. Hope you enjoyed it!
