Once upon a time, there was a man named Grandmaster Ball. His parents named him that way because first, their parents wanted them to be a master of something, and of course, grand of them all. And the “Ball” part was also easy. When he cried, 85 percent of the reason he cried was that he couldn’t touch any ball. So, when his parents gave him a ball with baby pictures around it, he always smiled and laughed. And his parents knew that Grandmaster Ball had to be his name. From that day, Grandmaster lived his life with balls.
He grew up to be great at sports with balls but especially excelled in basketball. He became a professional basketball player. He was as good as Michael Jordan! He was as rich as the Amazon CEO. Even though he was rich, his heart was not stone and was kind to the poor.
One day, he went to court as a jury. Even though he looked like he was focusing, he was thinking about making new basketball techniques. Suddenly, the lawyer slammed his hands on the table and stood up. It broke the quiet and calm atmosphere. And Grandmaster Ball had a great idea. He thought about slamming the ball through the rim and holding onto the ring for a few =seconds and returning to the play. It was a great idea. He tried to stand up and go to his own basketball stadium that he shared with his basketball team, the ‘Korean Unibears’. After the verdict came out, he was the first one to come out of the courtroom. Thankfully, his Porsche went up to 275Km/h, so he could share his idea with the rest of his team rapidly. The other teammates were practicing. Passing, throwing and shooting balls.
As he walked in and told his whole idea at a rapid speed, the others, including the coach nodded and practiced it right away. The coach spoke with Grandmaster Ball for a little bit.
“So, what are you going to name the technique? I’m sure people will ask about it in the game tomorrow with the ‘Japanese Hunters’. And by the way, I am 95 percent sure that we can win this game since the Hunters do not know about this whole thing.” Coach Dolph Cooper said.
“Well,” Grandmaster Ball started, “How about ‘the Dunk Shoot’? It just went past my head.”
Coach Copper replied. “Sure! That sounds great. So, let’s crush those ‘Japanese Hunter’ guys. So, get working!”
And the Korean Unibears practiced harder than ever.
The next day, the game was just what Coach Cooper expected. The Korean Unibears won the game with a score of 137:74, making history. And the dunk shot was a thing many people wondered and were amazed about.
After the victory, broadcasters rushed over to G.B.’s side.
“So, what is the name of your new technique, Grandmaster Ball?”
He replied. “Oh! That! I invented it yesterday, and it is called the Dunk shoot. Hope you all loved it.”
Everyone nodded, agreeing that they liked it. After the event, the Dunk shoot became famous, so G.B. made some more money, and his heart still didn’t turn into stone. And Grandmaster lived a happy life.
