It has been quite a long time since the previous debate ended. However, I recalled this motion because today, I ate pig meat, and I couldn't eat a lot. There were so many parts which I couldn't eat! After eating the pig meat, I thought of this motion-seriously. In the debate, Sihoo was the first speaker and talks about health. The argument citizen's rights was stated by me. Jen, the last speaker(who talks about assertions) spoke about the economy. I think that these arguments are very good, so I'll talk about that in a paragraph form.
There are both pros and cons of Seoul going to vegan and about human's rights. Some people may say that Seoul should go vegan because the citizens of Seoul should be a little more underweight. Because going to vegan has issues with people's right and economy, health, it shouldn't be required for all of the citizens of Seoul. Therefore, going to vegan is bad because of people's right, the economy problems, and about health.
Making Seoul go to vegan is actually breaking the law. When Seoul goes vegan, will people like it? I don't think so. There are many fans of meat in Seoul. Making people eat meat, reluctantly is breaking the law. According to the Korean law of article 10, all citizens have dignity and value as human beings and have the right to pursue happiness. The state has the duty to confirm and guarantee the inviolable and fundamental human rights of individuals. Also, in article 12, it says that all citizens have the right to control their own body. They could get fat as they want to, and have a huge diet and lose some weight. Like this, if the government makes innocent people eat vegetables, the government is breaking the law, which is absurd.
Seoul going completely vegan has some economy issues. There are economy issues because many marts wouldn't earn a lot of money, than usual. Let's say that there is a mart named A. A was always a very crowded mart, when everything changed one day. That day was the day the government making Seoul going to vegan. Many people usually bought some chicken, cow meat, milk, or cheese. However, because of this, mart A, now doesn't have almost any customers. Is this right? Of course not. Other marts will keep on being poor and poorer. This will eventually make marts not active, and will make the economy worse. Then, the price of money will go straight down, since the government will release a lot of money.
Eating only vegetables isn't that good for people's health. Especially for students. Adults are fully grown, so they could go completely vegan. However, on the other hand, students are still growing up. They need all the resources they could get. That way, they could be healthier. The necessary nutrients that we need are vitamin, and calcium. For vitamin, we have vegetables. Still, for calcium, we need some meat. Calcium makes our bones stronger, which is very important to students. Like this, eating only vegetables isn't that good at all.
In conclusion, Seoul going vegan should be stopped because of citizen's rights, Seoul's economy, and lastly health.
