Did you know that the Korea-US summit ended recently? It’s a meeting where a Korean president and the US president talk about their peace and how they are going to keep their relationship and other problems. This time, they talked about peace-keeping in the Korean peninsula, vaccinating the Korean army’s soldiers, and having our own missiles.
First, let’s talk about peace-keeping in the Korean Peninsula. For this, America said it would lessen their economic pressure on North Korea. That’s because if America puts more pressure on North Korea, they would be angrier and more aggressive. Then, the tension of war might be stronger than ever. Everyone would have to be nervous while living and I am sure we don’t want that to happen. And I hope America’s plan works. Peace is better than fighting anyways.
Next, America is going to provide enough COVID vaccines for our soldiers. The reason for that is because America loves and cares for itself the most. And since the people in most contact with South Koreans are soldiers that came from America that train together, the US will give vaccines for them. I think their reason for that is quite clever. Other countries might say that we, Korea, have enough skill and power to prevent the coronavirus. And they might also say that America should give excessive vaccines to Europe or other countries. Their answer was that American soldiers are in contact a lot with Korean soldiers and they don’t want them to be infected.
Lastly, we got to make non-nuclear missiles! Before the meeting, we had a limit of how far the missile could fly. But now, we don’t. Americans won't be nervous anyway because we don’t have the technology yet to send missiles to the US right away. Even if we can't, it will still help develop our technology, which is good for us. Soon, I hope we can send rockets to space really well.
That was probably all the things the two presidents talked about. I hope we have a lot of benefits through this meeting.
