Hello, Einsteins! Today, I am going to tell you the different shapes of baseball gloves. Each position has different types of gloves. And I will tell you each of the gloves.
First, there is the pitcher glove. The pitcher throws many types of balls. And if the batter knows what type, it becomes unfair for the pitcher. So everything is covered, and batters are unable to see what grip the pitcher is making. There isn’t a big difference except for the covered part, where the gloves have holes. It looks like this:
Next, the glove for the infielders. The ball that the batter hits can go really fast, so the gloves need to be light and be able to move easily. So, it’s mostly not that big. Also, the part between your thumb and index finger isn’t covered 100%. It looks like this:
Next, the glove for the outfielders. As most of you know, the outer part of the baseball stadium is much bigger than the inner part of the field. So, the three people keeping the ball from touching the ground need to have big gloves with deep parts. It’s easier to defend that way. It looks like this:
Fourth, the glove for the first basemen. You may think it is the same for the infielders, but this is not so. They have to catch short bounds and more, so it’s a little different. It has no finger seperations from the first to the fourth finger, not including the thumb. It looks like this:
Lastly, the catcher’s glove. The catcher has to catch a lot of fastballs, so it needs to be thick padding. And the ball needs to just fit in the glove and not fall out. So, the leather is thick and looks different from the other gloves. It looks like this:
Anyway, I hope you now know all the types of baseball gloves, different through each position. See you later! Bye~^^
