WE WON!!! WE ROCK!!!

Hello, and you guys probably know that we (me, Sihoo, Joyce, Stella, Joyce, and Roy) won the debate competition. AND WE ROCK!!! We won the gold medal, that’s great and we are incredibly proud of that. So, I am going to tell you what happened in the debate competition for this blog post.

So, I went to PEAI. There were a lot of people. I went to our homeroom. Joyce and Roy were there, talking about the Pororo net, and how she would kill Roy if he touched and played with that. Anyway, the debate started. We had a monitor logged into zoom and listened to it. The motion was announced (it was the fossil fuels debate) and we heard the government side. I think we were lucky on all three rounds. We got the better part (or team). The first team we met was ‘Catch de bait’. I wondered when I just heard it if it was ‘Catch de bait’ or ‘Catch debate’. They had a mysterious name. Anyway, the other team was strong. I thought we would lose, but, yay! The judge declared us as the winning team! We were so happy, and our pride went up a lot. By the way, Roy was the boy in the corner for this round.

Next team! Their name was ‘DeBATMAN’. Their name was also confusing. ‘DeBATMAN’ or, ‘DeBATEMAN’ (of course, in spelling). They glared at us since we were so loud. But they must haven’t known that we are always like this. They also said something about Joyce looking at her phone, for 30 seconds. 30 SECONDS!!! I mean, how could you research for 30 seconds? And Joyce’s phone doesn’t even have internet, so how could she do research??? We were stunned. That’s why we were happy to crush them by the results of the match, and the whole competition. Still, Joyce rolled her eyes because of the super long speech. So, we won two rounds in a row. For this round, I was the guy in the corner.

Now, the last round! The final match! I was a little nervous since the other team (the Athenas) also won two rounds, including LFL, the M class team. And we had the debate. I had a feeling that we would win this round and get a medal. But the judge said that the results will not be announced, and you will know when the announcer says the winner.

And it was time to announce the winner. Well, I knew we would get a medal because we didn’t get the certificate earlier than the Athenas. Because they said it was coming, and medalists have this third/second/first prize tag beneath the name. And they announced our name for the winning team! We screamed and yelled in victory. We were so happy and wanted to brag. I felt really good when we got the medals, certificates, and prize money. I wore the medal around my neck, and later I ate delicious things in my house. It was so good!!! Hope you have an experience like this, too!
