Once upon a time, there was a forest. In the forest, only cats and fairies lived there. The cats were the same as the cats right now, except that they did not have glowing eyes. And the fairies glowed brightly in the dark. The cats and fairies were close, and did not have a fight ever since the two beings were created. But right now, the peace was starting to crumble.
Initially, when five cats were visiting the fairy’s land, something caught their eye. It was three fairies behind a giant tree, giggling. The cats got suspicious and walked toward them.
“Hi! May I ask you what you are giggling about?” The brown cat, Panther asked, as politely as possible.
“Oh! Uh… hello there! Didn’t see you. Uh… mmm… as you see, we’re having a nice picnic... having some fun. Yeah! That is what is going on here. Heh heh.” One of the fairies stammered, still smiling. All three fairies looked as if they were surprised. For the five cats, it looked like they were hiding something. But, they did not want a fight, and they just walked away, pretending nothing bad had happened.
After the journey to the fairy’s land, Panther told their leader, Nimbus what they saw. But Nimbus didn’t take any interest in it and just told everyone to take a feast. After a few seconds, a cat came running to Nimbus, panting.
“Nimbus! There isn't enough meat to eat! But there was a sufficient amount this morning! What do we do?”
“What? That is impossible! Or… maybe the fairies stole our delicious food. Like Panther said! Our mouse and rat meat! Ugh! How dare they steal our juicy meat! We shall find out the truth tomorrow and attack if we need to.” Nimbus snarled. Everyone agreed, returning to their beds, starved.
The next day, the cats woke up, angry because of their starvation. In the fairy land, they were happily eating the mouse and rat meat, which they had stolen. They intended to keep it a secret.
At the border, the cats hid under a bush. The cats were bigger than the fairies and had a bigger population, so they could beat them. After digging some tunnels to smell the scent, it was certain that the fairies had stolen the cat’s food. The army couldn’t take it anymore and went through the ground and attacked the fairies like they were enemies. They yowled and howled. The fairies did not expect that and had to be defeated. All of the cats became a little overwhelmed that they actually swallowed the fairies. As soon as they did, they came back to reality and faced what a horrible thing they had done. But, they couldn’t restore it. They returned to their home, depressed.
And after a few days, they found out that in nighttime, their eyes could glow. It was because the fairies glowed at night and made the cat’s eye glow. That became one of their traits.
In conclusion, now you know why cat’s eyes glow in the dark. The fairies!
