Italian Pizza v.s American Pizza

The everlasting debate!! People have different opinions about two different types of pizza, and no one can stop their preferences. Before starting, Italian pizza has a thin dough and limited ingredients, while American pizza has a thick dough with a variety of ingredients. Though Italian pizza and American pizza has similarities, it is different in the ways of shape, ingredients, and the way to cook it.

Italian pizza has a long history of over 150 years, and the ancestors of Italian pizza existed even at the times of the Roman Empire. (What I am calling Italian pizza is a type of Naples pizza) The shape of Italian pizza is always a round circle. Moreover there are limits in how much the bread should cover up from the whole pizza. The ingredient in this interesting bread is usually tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves which stand for the Italian flag. Italians cook the pizza in a brick oven heated by the wood of oak trees. The pizza has to be cooked there for 60~90 seconds. Italian pizza is taken cared by the government which means that it has higher limits and rules.

The American pizza we will talk about is the Chicago style pizza. There are diverse shapes of the pizza such as a round circle, a squARE or even triangles. It is very free in the shape of the dough. In the side of ingredients, they use peperoni, cheese, ham, bacon, etc. vERY FREE in the ingredients than Italian pizza. pEOPLE usually cook the pizza in an electric oven which is easy to use.

I realized that choosing which food to eat is a big freedom humans get. It was very strange to know about the two whole different pizza. I hope that nobody ever pushes people to have the same opinions.
