According to UNICEF, Korea has the highest suicide rate among the OECD countries, and has the 3rd highest suicide rate in the whole world. Also, according to the survey held by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the most major reason of suicide of the teens in Korea was because of stress made by studying. However, yesterday, Suneung, which is the Korean SAT (KSAT) was held all across the country for students who are 19. KSAT is known for its surprisingly hard questions compared to other countries which I am not sure whether it is something to have pride or despair as a student waiting for it in 7 years.. Actually, in some youtube channel that an English person does had uploaded a video of British people trying to solve KSAT English question, but they coouldn't, and got most of it wrong or out of time! They say the questions were unuseful and too hard to use in critical thinking or even in real life. On the comment section, Korean students complained that when even British people say it is no use and too hard, KSAT must change somehow that less stresses out students or becomes helpful to real life. Also, I found this interesting comment that a random foriegner wrote: "KSAT stands for Korean Students Are Tortured by this Test". I mean, when Korea is one of the countries with the highest suicide rate, why is the level and the amount of the work by done by students are increasing?? Well I don't get it. Thanks for reading and BYE!
This is the video I watched(Korean Alert only in subtitles!):
