Jokers in Protests

The Hong Kong protest is still happening because the citizens want democracy. However, the government doesn't want to. That is why the Hong Kong protest is happening. In the beginning, some citizens wore masks in the protest but when people kept wearing masks, the government banned people wearing masks. According to BBC news, the government banned people wearing masks and any type of face covering because they wanted to block the protest from getting worse. I think that law is too strict because citizens have the right to do whatever they want if there is no harm to others and why is face covering harmful to others? The protesters didn't like the law that there has to be no face covering so in defense, they wore any kind of face covering. In the crowd of protesters, there were a lot of joker masks and face paintings. Some posts related to this happening said if people really acted like the Joker, then Hong Kong will be doomed. The joker is becoming a symbol of protests not only in Hong Kong but also countries all around the world. In Chile, there was a protest and people wore the joker face masks and also the face paintings.
