Safiya holds a heavy water bucket in her two hands, walking up the uphill road. She just turned 6, and today is her birthday. Her mom is sick so from now on, Safiya will have to do all the work that her mom used to do. In the morning, Safiya walks barefoot to the water pump and arrives at her house with the heavy water bucket filled with muddy water. In the daytime, she had to earn some money so she goes around the village and asks for things she can do to earn money. This is a life of a girl of a poor African family. The average poverty rate for Sub-saharan Africa is 41% which is really low. Sub-saharan Africa is the 28th most poorest country in the world. Because they are so poor, more than 30% of the African children suffer from growth disorders such as stunting due to their chronic malnutrition. This disease causes a physical and mental underdevelopment in children. While these poor children has to go to school, because of poverty, they have to stay at their homes and do something that makes money and helps their family. Even though these children don't go to school, many children wants to. These children has the same human rights as us so we should donate and help these poor African children.
